Thanks for thinking about using the Sundays Only Handyman!
Labor Rates - Effective Dec 1, 2009
- Flat Rates for Common Jobs - Most jobs are quoted at a fixed price for the entire project start to finish. Examples; replacement of; faucets ($75), exterior doors single width ($150), windows ($150), sump pumps ($75) and many other jobs.
- Piece Work - Some jobs are quoted by the item. Such as window screen repair labor, electrical outlet/switch repair. I will typically quote a flat rate.
- Hourly - Some efforts cannot be quoted ahead of time as fixed work due to their complexity or the unknowns of the job. These are charged at a $50/hour rate (including travel time), minimum of $100 per visit. However, if you can supply pictures, I can often quote the job at a flat rate.
Please see notes below for other details.
Notes & Comments:
-
I typically can only do projects that can be completed within 8 hours, unless you are willing to have the project streach over 2 or more Sundays.
-
I prefer to purchase the materials for the job except for items which require the owner's personal decision (i.e. lights, faucets, doors, windows, etc). We can talk about it to decide how to move forward.
-
Material costs will include applicable taxes and a 10% cartage fee. Feel free to ask to see the receipts.
-
Of course, I would never think of charging for small common items such as nails, screws, nuts/bolts, glue, etc.
-
Large items (i.e. windows and doors) must be delivered to the site by the owner or the vendor.
-
If rental of speciality equipment is needed, costs will include a 10% cartage fee.
-
Sorry, but I can't do the following: painting, roofs, sewage ejector pumps, attics, second story exterior work, large applicance repair or bugs/vermine.
-
I can't haul away large amounts of trash but I do clean up after myself.
-
Mileage under 10 miles from West Dundee, IL is FREE! Longer distances will incur a mileage charge of $0.50/mile (after the first 10 miles).
-
$100 minimum labor charge per visit except for flat rate jobs.
